Why Radiovision Is a Must-Hear: A Brilliant, Dreamy, and Dynamic Album Experience

Radiovision is a progressive alternative record where contemporary hip-hop collides with the magnetic fusion of jazz and soul. The project emerges from an effective collaboration between Vermin the Villan, also known as Verm, a multifaceted alternative hip-hop artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, and The Still Brothers, a production duo known for blending jazz, hip-hop, dream-pop, and anything else they feel like into a distinctive hybrid sound.

Released under Lewis Recordings, the album feels like a real labour of love from everyone involved. You can hear the attention to detail in every layer — especially impressive considering the record uses no samples at all, with every impersonated voice actually performed by voice actors. It gives the project this retro-future, pirate-radio atmosphere that ties all the tracks together without ever feeling gimmicky.

The features are another highlight. Marina B steals the spotlight on Still Theme (Dedicated), and again on The Knowledge alongside Kim Foxen, where the blend of their vocals brings a sweet softness to Verm’s rhythmically spoken delivery. Slug makes a memorable appearance on the single You Can’t Stop the Rock, adding a punch that makes the track instantly replayable, while ELAM ZULA brings his own texture to the title track Radiovision, demonstrating a high energy.

Musically, the album moves through moods without losing its identity. You get hip-hop, rap, jazz, and even a bit of dream-pop woven together with smart wordplay and a rich production for a record that feels clever and free-flowing. Some of my personal favourites include Spell It Out, Alright, and Only Time Will Tell — all tracks where Verm’s delivery finds this perfect balance between confident and conversational. Still Theme is another standout for me; Marina’s vocals add a level of dreaminess that levitates the track to a different dimension.

Above all, Radiovision sounds like a collaboration made with a genuine and creative spirit. Messy in the best of ways, experimental without trying too hard, and filled with little moments that make you want to run it back just to catch every detail. It’s hip-hop meeting alternative meeting pure imagination, and honestly, I’m really fond of it.
